Day 173 Budding photographer

I gave the boys an old digital camera to use and this is one of the photos they took this afternoon. I think they need a bit of practice huh?

Day 172 No more cake

Dh wanted dessert tonight so he had a piece of the ice cream cake we had for birthdays last week. I didn't want the cake around anymore so after he had his piece this chunk went down the disposal.

Day 171 Well checks and bovines...???

Today was going to just be S at his 7 year well check, but then I had to add this other picture. Dh called me from around the corner as he was on his way home to tell me that some "neighbors" were out munching on the front lawn of one of our friends. The kids and I grabbed our shoes, I grabbed my camera and this is what we found. Only in Texas my friends!

Day 170 Another trip to the airport

This was my third trip to the airport this week. My parents left today and we were on our way to the airport with the boys watching a movie in the back of the van. Just thought the clouds looked cool here so I figured I'd add that for today as well.

Day 169 Sunset

To go along with the sunrise picture the other day...here's the sunset I caught as I was turning into the airport to pick dh up from his business trip.

Day 168 Happy Birthday!

S shares a birthday with my Dad and since my parents were here we were able to celebrate together. We went to dinner at Buca di Beppo and S insisted that they NOT sing to him so they sang to my Dad only. When we got home, we had a yummy cookies n cream ice cream cake. And then...here's the birthday boy sound asleep.

Day 167 Golf camp

The boys went to golf camp and really had a great time. They want to take more lessons and we've been out looking for clubs for them. Good thing we live in a golf course community.

Day 166 Sunrise

This was the sunrise I caught on my way home from dropping dh off at the airport for an early morning flight to the Bahamas for business (yes I could have gone with, but chose not to spend the $700 it would have cost for me to fly there for 3 days). Not the greatest quality, but all I had with me was my phone.

Day 165 Aaaahhhh!

A quick dip in the pool and a relaxing soak in the spa before bedtime for the boys.

Day 164 Date Night!

Dh and I had a date night. We went out for dinner at a fish and seafood place...it was yummy...and then we went to see Sex and the City. The last time we saw a grown up movie in the theater, E was a baby...and he's going to be 10 in a few weeks. I LOVED the movie! We both laughed, I cried...it was great.

Day 163 Father's Day

Bet you expected a picture of either dh or my Dad huh? Well, here are the boys building the Lego Police Headquarters set they got from my parents.

Day 162 Party Day

Pinata time. The boys each had their own pinata (to go along with their chosen theme), but all the kids got turns with both of them.

Day 161 The Cakes!

Here are the cakes I made for the boys for their birthday party. Everyone loved them...even one of E's friends that said she doesn't really like cake ate some and said it was yummy. I was happy with the way all of them came out, but my favorite this time was the skateboard. I finished it after the boys went to bed so when S got up in the morning I asked him what he thought of his skateboard cake...his reply "What's the S stand for"? Silly boy!

Day 160 Cake baking day

The boys' birthday party is Saturday so today was cake baking day. I made 4 cakes and made and tinted the buttercream frosting. Tomorrow is assembly and decorating day. So, tune in tomorrow to see the finished products.

Day 159 Mom and Dad

My Mom and Dad arrived for a visit and here they are heading down the escalator towards baggage claim (Mom in the pink and Dad right behind her).

Day 158 Holy gas prices Batman!

I know our gas prices are less than a lot of other places around the country, but holy cow it's hurting the wallet. This was only 1/2 a tank since I was at 1/2. Dh filled up his truck today and it was $94.

Day 157 Eeeeewwwww girl germs!

Actually E doesn't mind getting hugs and kisses from his mom. I love my boy!

Day 156 New Quilt

S wanted a little change in his room, so here's his new skateboard quilt set.

Day 155 Dh hogging the computer

Dh was being a computer hog...I told him to just let me know when he was done and I could use it.

Day 154 Wii Fit

I finally set up our Wii Fit the other day and we've all been having fun trying the different activities. Here we have S doing the hula hoop and E doing a short distance run. I have actually been sore the past 2 days from doing the different activities.

Day 153 Some water fun

It has been so hot here that the only place to be is in the water.

Day 152 Boxes

Funny how boxes can be so much fun. These boxes were headed for the garage to be trashed, but the boys thought they would make a cool raceway for their mini cars.

Day 151 New bed

This is the bed we bought for our extra bedroom upstairs. I put it together this morning...all it needs is a mattress now.

Day 150 Things to do and more

My original picture for today was the stack of bills that I have to pay. But I added the second because dh was making fun of my "wild" hair so he took this picture. That was my hair after I had been in the pool and let it air dry.

Day 149 2fer for Today

Since I posted a picture of S's birthday invites I figured I would post E's as well. Of course I put them all in the mailbox on Sunday only to find today (because one of the mom's told me) that I didn't put the date on it...duh!!!

Picture #2 is me and a friend of mine from Chicago that I used to work with. She was attending a funeral and then came up here to visit a friend and as she was driving here saw a sign for the city I live in. So, she called and we got to together. We haven't seen her since S was a baby (he'll be 7 soon) so it was really nice to get together and chat.

Day 148 Last Day of School

This is what I got when I called his name...because he won't pose for a picture. So, here we have S with his messy ice cream sundae face.

Day 147 Watching the Bats

Each class at school has a mascot and this year E was the (Mrs.) B... Bats. So, most of the class got together this evening to watch the bats as they came out from under a bridge just as it was getting dark. One of the kids brought cupcakes and that's why E has blue lips in the first picture.
